• Reduced physical activity: Persons with arthritis and other rheumatic conditions are significantly less active than the populations as a whole.
• Reduced leisure activity.
• Joint pain due to arthritis can limit sexual activity.
• Rheumatoid arthritis affects the quality of the life. The complications of Rheumatoid arthritis include joint distraction, heart failure, lung disease, low or high platelets, spine instability etc.
• Affected joints may worsen the ordinary tasks of the day to day life.
• Rheumatoid arthritis complications of this disease may shorten survival in some individuals.

Complications created by Rheumatoid arthritis in Other Areas of the Body are
• Peripheral Neuropathy: This affects the nerves of hands and feet which results in tingling, numbness, or burning.

• Scleritis: This is an inflammation of the blood vessels in the eye that could result in corneal damage.

• Infections: RA patients have a higher risk for infections, particularly from some of the immune-suppressing drugs that they take.

• Skin problems: RA will create some skin problems in fingers and under the nails.

• Gastrointestinal Problems: RA creates the colorectal cancers in the patients.

• Osteoporosis: his is a type of disorder which reduces the bone density and is more common in postmenopausal women with rheumatoid arthritis. It mainly affects the hipbone.

• Heart Disease: RA will increase the risk for heart disease, possibly because of the inflammatory response in RA, which may also injure arteries and heart muscle tissue.

• Periodontal Disease: People with RA may be twice as likely as non-arthritic individuals to have periodontal disease. Chronic inflammation and immune dysfunction are central to both diseases.

• Anemia.

• Lung Disease

Complication of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis
This is not the most serious type of arthritis but if untreated may create a life threatening disorder called Macrophage activation syndrome.

Complications of Gout Arthritis
Gout arthritis may progress to chronic state leading to the formation of kidney stones and chronic changes in the affected joints. If the Gout is untreated then it may lead to permanent disability.
